COAST - Golden Age
The Canine Osteoarthritis Staging Tool (COAST) is an annual veterinarian questionnaire used to aid in the diagnosis of osteoarthritis. This data is collected in conjunction with the on-cycle owner-reported values in the LOAD dataset. Off-cycle owner-reported values in the LOAD dataset are collected six months later and do not have associated veterinarian data.
Pre-clinical signs of osteoarthritis will have a COAST score of 0-1; clinical signs of osteoarthritis will have a COAST score of 2-4.

| q01_coast_degree_of_dogs_discomfort | Degree of discomfort score from the on-cycle LOAD questionnaire (question 21 from LOAD questionnaire). |
| q02_coast_dog_grade | On a scale of 0 to 4, the stage of osteoarthritis in the dog based on the highest-ranking score from degree of discomfort, assessment of motion and static posture (questions 1, 4 and 9). |
| q03_coast_joint_grade | On a scale of 0 to 4, the stage of osteoarthritis in the joint based on the highest-ranking score from pain upon manipulation, passive range of motion and signs of osteoarthritis on radiographs (questions 6, 7 and 8). |

| coast_load_score | On a scale of 0 to 4, the overall stage of osteoarthritis based on the highest-ranking score from COAST dog grade and COAST joint grade (question 2 and 3). |
LOAD - Golden Age
Liverpool Osteoarthritis in Dogs (LOAD) is a biannual owner questionnaire used to aid in the diagnosis of osteoarthritis.
On-cycle columns contain LOAD data collected in conjunction with the veterinarian-reported COAST data. Off-cycle columns contain data collected six months later and do not have associated veterinarian-reported COAST data.
Mobility questions are ranked on a scale of 0 (healthy) to 4 (representing severe/extreme disease). LOAD scores of 0-10 are considered mild signs of osteoarthritis, 11-20 moderate, 21-30 severe and 31-52 extreme.

| q07_lifestyle_limit | Who limits the extent to which your dog exercises? |
| q08_mobility_general | How is your dog’s mobility in general? |
| q09_mobility_lameness | How disabled is your dog by his/her lameness? |
| q10_mobility_active | How active is your dog? |
| q11_mobility_cold_lameness | What is the effect of cold, damp weather on your dog’s lameness? |
| q12_mobility_lie_down | To what degree does your dog show stiffness after a "lie down"? |
| q13_mobility_exercise | At exercise, how active is your dog? |
| q14_mobility_interest | How interested is your dog in exercising? |
| q15_mobility_ability | How would you rate your dog’s ability to exercise? |
| q16_mobility_exercise_lameness | What overall effect does exercise have on your dog’s lameness? |
| q17_mobility_rest | How often does your dog rest (stop/sit down) during exercise? |
| q18_mobility_cold_exercise | What is the effect of cold, damp weather on your pet’s ability to exercise? |
| q19_mobility_lie_down_exercise | To what degree does your dog show stiffness after a "lie down" following exercise? |
| q20_mobility_lameness_exercise | What is the effect of your dog’s lameness on his/her ability to exercise? |
